Making straight lines and 'Z' by joining dots, getting the flow by scribbling an '8' over and over again was the first exercise.
Two minute sketches to capture the form and then scaling it up. Lastly a self portrait to capture both the form and detail.
The restriction of not being able to erase a mistake when making small sketches directly with a pen was a bit terrifying but after doing for a while it helped built up my confidence. I felt at ease, a little more confident while scaling up the image, even though the lines, proportion was not perfect this exercise helped loosen up my hand and polished my observation.
I thoroughly enjoyed doing the life size portrait, i felt free. But at the same time it turned out to be a serial killer of our fragile backs!
